Fertility Acupuncture Around DC area

I am Chinese, and I am against traditional medicine. I am not trying to troll anyone, just hear me out.

IVF is a miracle, in the sense that for thousands of years people playing witchcraft and/or praying to madonna/buddha/whoever trying to solve infertility. Had any of those showed any promise it would be called A MIRACLE and shrines would be built and pilgrims would show up.

Now we actually have this statically measurable scientifically repeatable miracle of IVF available for us, respect it, understand it. When I went through IVF and read about all the hormones and reproductive processes, I was moved by it’s beauty and wonder how the heck scientists discover such intricate things. Please don’t get it mixed up with the myth and false promise of traditional medicine again. If you want to increase your blood flow, take baby aspirin.

Thanks for hearing my rant. I hope all you ladies good luck on your quests.

The point is compare to IVF, fertility acupuncture is at best placebo, at worst a waste of money and effort.

Well, it worked for me in conjunction with IVF. And that's all the proof I need.

You have no proof that it worked. It's possible (and likely) that IVF alone worked.

In this JAMA article, there was no statistically significant difference between real vs. sham acupuncture for fertility.

The placebo effect is powerful, but if I were trying to get pregnant, I'd put my faith in methods that are backed up by scientific evidence.

Chinese PP here. fertility acupuncture is not a thing in China. Had it worked even a little bit you’d think there’d be stories since they have a lot of people there.

Only reference I can find in Chinese language sources were Chinese women seeking IVF in US, and they reported that “oh western doctors here recommend me for acupuncture, I am shocked! Why don’t we have it in China!? They must know something that we don’t.”

Yup, anything is possible. Not sure what your bone to pick is. If someone wants to do fertility acupuncture why do you care?
