The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare was my first historical romance and totally hooked! Read all her books andnlisa Kleypas and Julia Quinn (the Bridgestone series). |
| Marian Keyes' books can be fun, as are Sophie Kinsella's. And the Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters is hilarious. |
She just died in June, so good to see the shout out. |

+1Sophie Kinsella, especially I've Got Your Number and Can You Keep a Secret.

| V.C. Andrews anyone??! |
I admit to rereading the entire Flowers in the Attic series a few years ago when I heard the Lifetime movies were coming out. I had just gotten a Kindle so I could do it secretly.
Also I remember the very early Jackie Collins books (Chances, Lucky etc.) falling quite nicely into this category. And, although obviously problematic, Gone with the Wind. |
| Sister Soujah wrote some bestsellers in the 90s that I could NOT put down. _The Coldest Winter Ever_ was a page turner for me. It’s out of the norm for my tastes, too. |
| The Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris. The True Blood series is based on them. There’s a bunch and they are as easy to read as it is to eat cotton candy. |
Bless you for saying this. I, too, read trash and love it. |
