Lots of kids of celebrities in this flick.

I had to look it up to see who she was in the movie. I disagree about the "scene stealing performance". She's good, but not that remarkable IMO. She is very pretty though.

DP. She’s also been in The Leftover and Fosse/Verdon. Good actress and beautiful. Her part in this movie wasn’t anything special, but she was cute.

The movie was a bunch of vignettes, some more poignant than others. But the parts were greater than the whole, IMHO.

I agree. I think both Pitt and DiCaprio did a great job, but Leo especially knocked it out of the park. He really is a phenomenal actor (though I hated his southern/western accent). Pitt is also a fabulous actor, but I think this movie did a better job of showcasing DiCaprio.

I was shocked by Dakota Fanning. They really made her look rough!

I thought it was great. Great screen play. Great acting. Beautiful. I did t realize going in that it was going to be 3 hours but I wasn’t board at all.

I enjoyed it and there was a lot of star power in the movie.

Great acting. Beautifully shot. Three hours of vignettes loosely tide together--it felt like a 5 hour movie. *Bored* out of my mind for 75% of the movie.

I read an interview with her where she talked about how horrified she was that she had to flaunt her feet in the car scene. Apparently she was a ballet dancer and is embarrassed by the state of her feet. Brad Pitt and Tarantino had to convince her that they aren’t so bad.

I thought she was fine, in the same way that a million other pretty girls would have been fine in that role. She’s yet another young actor who got where she is thanks to her famous parents.

Funny that you mention that about her feet. (I'm the PP). I noticed that her feet looked a little "off" in the scene, and was wondering if it was because of the way they shot them all sort of squished up against the windshield. Makes total sense now knowing that she's a dancer. I totally agree that she's another actress who made it more through connections, even though she's pretty and was good in it. I'm sure there are plenty of others of the same caliber without famous parents.

I really enjoyed it, more than most Tarantino movies. While watching I wondered how much the average viewer today would understand about the whole Manson thing. I was alive then and remember it, also read the book Helter Skelter and later saw the movie that was made from that book, so I got every little detail of it.

The ending was bizarre, I guess Tarantino imagining a happier resolution.

I saw it with my 19 yr old DS. He knew about none of it (and I didn't realize that was what the movie was about, it was a spur of the moment choice). So I'm going to guess virtually nothing. He's a pretty well read/educated kid--ok, young man--and he knew nothing about Sharon Tate.

Agreed.

Physically, she reminds me of Alison Williams, and I find her pretty average. I don't like gummy smiles.

My husband is 42 and knew nothing about it. I mean, he knew the name Charlie Manson and that he was a crazy psychopath but didn't know anything about the murders. Once I explained all of that on the way home, it clarified a lot.

I thought Pitt was excellent but not for one second did I believe he was a bad guy, a man who killed his wife. He just has too much natural bonhomie to convince as a character like that. Maybe he's too famous to convince, I don't know. But DiCaprio was absolutely amazing. He is so talented.

The potential wife killing thing was supposed to evoke Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner. Robert Wagner was likable and believable enough to be employable after her death, but he has always had that cloud of suspicion hanging over him anyway.

I'm 37. I didn't know Sharon Tate was a real person until the person sitting next to me whisper-screamed to his wife "That's the real Sharon Tate" during the movie theater scene. I inferred that Charles Manson did something heinous from all of the times he's been mentioned in other movies, but I thought he was a serial killer or cannibal. I didn't know anything about the cult until I googled it after the movie.
