I read your post wrong op. I felt fines mu 1st retrieval but increasing pain for my 2&3rd. I almost busted into the pain meds for the 3rd but I made it through somehow.
I will say the journey to parenthood is really rough. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and feel like crap pretty much 24/7. As an account executive I don't have down time so I just do my best to make work and personal commitments happen. Seems like only women have to put up with feeling crappy and having to pretend everything is fine.
I did an HCG trigger and generally felt fine by that evening (you'll want to nap for most of the afternoon). They ended up with 28 eggs and I had no OHSS symptoms. I will say I was pretty emotional that evening since it's hard not to wonder about the quality of the eggs/embryos being fertilized. Being at the picnic might be a good distraction!
i felt fine as soon as i woke up from the anesthesia and the night of....the next day and the following i gained 4 pounds and my stomach was hard as a rock versus jiggly. also cramps in the middle of the night
I had 30 eggs, no OHSS. Felt bloated but could have gone to a party if I had taken a long nap in the afternoon. Would I have wanted to? No. Theoretically and physically possible? Yes. Also, I tried to send some work emails that day and definitely made a mistake on something that I wouldn’t have made otherwise, so be wary that the anesthesia may leave you feeling fine but may not be totally out of your system.
What does this have to do with a retrieval? |
I was sleepy for a couple hours after procedure but after that, I had no pain (took tylenol) and felt normal. Honestly I could have gone back to work that afternoon if I wanted to.
