Just get a bunch of dollar tree happy birthday signs and save them for each birthday. And, a few balloons. |
Haha, I don’t know why I remember this, but we would always get the walking balloons on our birthdays. Like the characters with legs. So funny. |
Ha I love this. |
I make birthday pancakes in the morning with sprinkles, whipped cream and a small candle. They get to choose a favorite dinner and I make a dessert from scratch of their own choice. Decorate. |
We also decorate outside the birthday child's room and include a homemade (simple) sign saying how much we love them, are proud of them, etc. At birthday dinner we go around and say some of the things we love about the person having their birthday. |
Not a tradition, but I really like this idea:
|
Ignore the jerks, PP, we do this in my family too, I love baking my family's birthday cakes! Every year DS6 gets vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, DS3 gets vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream, and DH42 gets vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream!! |
My mom would always drive us in the car through the car wash on our birthdays. I guess just for fun because we liked it? Really random.
Some years she would “paint” things on the car like “honk if you love Birthdays! Honk if you like five year olds!” So people would wave as we went by. |
We were gifted those fancy silver cups for each of our kids as babies. I make sure to use them for the kids’ drinks at holiday dinners and on their birthdays. Sparkling cider out of fancy silver cups, they get a kick out of it. |
I used to sneak in and leave the number of balloons for what age they are turning. |
We let our kid pick whatever she wants for dinner and have a movie night. |
Birthday Cake and Sprite for breakfast. Brought to your room and you get woken up by your family singing happy birthday to you |
Thanks to all of you. Great ideas. I will borrow some. OP. |
Ditto. More would be fun though. |
