Jerk employee at clinic and a warning for others seeking 2nd dose

Anonymous
We got the mist both times. I had always heard it's 28 days for both, I thought.

We were not questioned at all about 2nd dose. Sorry you went through that! I would be so annoyed.

"Sorry you went through that" -- hmmmm, yes, it was a hassle for OP but let's all get a reality check here -- she didn't go through an actual SICK child, or death of a spouse, or death of a parent or NUMEROUS other hardships every day people encounter. Let's all get a grip.

Um, I don't think anybody was saying it's a tragedy. Just a pain in the ass. No need to "get a grip", everyone sounds pretty level headed....

there certainly is a lot of back and forth about whether or not someone was doing his/her job...

Nah, I think the back and forth was about whether or not he was a JERK for telling OP the rules. Sounds like OP wouldn't have been happy with anything short of, "Hi, here's your second dose. Have a good day."

You guys weren't there, I think OP was saying that his attitude made him a jerk. He could have been nicer about it all is what I think she was saying.

Gee life in the big city around here, give OP a break.

Please. The mom who says her daughter won't shut up and she can't wait to get away from her is the jerk. Not this OP.

There's a difference between doing your job and stating the rules and being an ass about it.

I really don't care, but if you look at the OP she says the guy told her she couldn't get the shot because they needed proof that it had been 28 days since the first dose. He told her she needed to bring the card she was given. That's it! She didn't say a word about him being nasty, or having an attitude, or being rude. None of that. Her beef was that she went through the trouble of getting up early to come down, waiting in line, calling her husband to come in the bad weather etc. She was pissed that this guy was telling her anything that was not "OK, here's the second dose." Which is why people said what he did wasn't being a jerk. It was letting her know the rules and she was pissed at the possibility of not getting the dose after all the trouble she went through.

Did you not see this follow up post?

"OP Here. He DID know my child got the shot there. He basically old us we were screwed and to go home. Then for some reason he relented and looked us up in the computer and the date was in there, just like I said.

The jerk part was in the attitude. No, "Sorry, but...". No sympathy. No niceness. Just, "Sucks to be you and that's the way it is" My 6 yo started to cry. I don't know why he changed his mind.

Ah dcum. Thanks for the support as I try to warn others not to make my admitted mistake. "
