Expectant and Postpartum Moms
Ditto on the long walks! #1 was also a kite festival/cherry blossom baby (one week early) and #2 was a folklife festival baby (one week late, and it was HOT!). I was in labor w/in twelve hours of each of these long treks. So, evidently the National Mall has some sort of induction properties... |
| Castor oil, did it with #1 and made it to the hospital 9cm and baby born 40 minutes later. |
I walked, had sex, used evening primrose oil, massage, etc. Sadly nothing put me into labor except pitocin and I was 41+ weeks
With this baby I fully intend to start the EPO much earlier and do accupuncture. I want to VBAC and had a large baby with my first so I'd really like to go into labor naturally and before 41 weeks this time!!! Good luck! |
There's a restaurant in Atlanta that is known for serving Eggplant Parmesian which induces labor....try some eggplant with your pineapple!
|
Really? This is really interesting. My baby came early and I actually ate eggplant parmesian which I usually never eat the night before, went into labor early the next morning... |
| Rubbing pineapple daiquiri on your nipples. |
| I'm the eggplant poster...At that restaurant, they even have a 'warning' on the menu for pregnant women not to eat it unless you're full term! |
I am the one who went into labor after eating the eggplant parmisian. I have googled it and it's all over the Internet! Apparently, it's due to the herbs they use, oregano and basil (http://www.maternitycorner.com/mcmag/articles/preg0007.html) I wish I had known that before....I would not have eaten the eggplant! |

Evening Primrose Oil
Spicy foods Walk walk walk walk walk! Castor oil |
Funny!! my SIL went into labor the night after she went to that restaurant and had the eggplant dish, so i guess is true. |
|
Here is what I tried:
Lots of walking Lots of sex Spicy food Acupressure Acupuncture Moxybustion Castor oil (twice) I wound up being induced 16 days after my due date. I wasn't dilated at all. That said, castor oil did induce contractions, but they were deemed "unproductive" and went away on their own. I never want to think about castor oil ever again! |

OP Here-
So yesterday I did 3 miles on the elliptical machine, had foot reflexology and a full body labor inducing massage (was INCREDIBLE by the way), and ate Scallini's Eggplant Parm (the recipe is online)! I've also been taking EPO for the past few days and having loads of sex! So if any of these hold true, I should be in labor within 48 hours....if the little miss is willing to cooperate of course! I'm having mild contractions, but I'm not sure if they're the real deal or not. If there's no progress by Wednesday, I'm moving on to Castor Oil...yuck! Thanks for all the suggestions! |
| when is your due date? |
| Make sure you consult your Dr/Midwife before chugging the castor oil! |
| I hope for your sake you're in full on labor by now! But if not, would you mind letting us know where you got the massage and reflexology? |
