Where to board a sick pet

You might be able to find someone on Rover who would be willing to take care of a pet in this condition, but it really isn't fair to them to traumatize them if he does pass away while you're gone. Just please put him down and put him out of his misery.

Put him down or cancel your trip. Your poor dog.

I would have put him down when the vet said he had days to live. But you don't seem like a good pet owner or compassionate, so I'm not surprised youd stick your dying dog in a kennel for 2 weeks.

OP here. So Vet never said to put him down. I have been with him non stop for the last five weeks. It is not a trip I can cancel. By fussy i meant I am hovering and attending to him 24/7. I really wanted to avoid this heartbreaking decision. I suppose it was denial.
But I will bring him to the Vet and see what he says. I suppose this is always a very difficult choice that I hoped to avoid.

Thank you for all your kind words.

OP, I was in exactly the same situation last year and I ended up putting my beloved dog down. It was really hard but I knew he only had a few weeks to live and being separated from me would have been too hard for him. If you’re tending to your dog 24/7, he’s probably pretty miserable. It’s a kindness to let him go.
