Considering I'd ALMOST rather go to Ocean City than Myrtle, all the NC choices are far better. Myrtle Beach is crowded, tons of rednecks, party vibe, and traffic and just...ugh.

Myrtle Beach is like Vegas in comparison to Emerald Isle. There is no “strip” in EI.

Sure, you can snorkel.


You just won't see much. Atlantic water in the Carolinas is not super clear, and no reefs etc. Mostly empty sand near shore.
