+1. Love it! I get my hair cut to accentuate the curls and I threw away all of my heat-styling tools. Now I have air-dry curls in mid-life. |
I will add my story to this! My hair went curly after my second. It stayed that way until I finished nursing my third (and learned to love and style my curls unfortunately!) |
| Yes. Autoimmune disease. It’s like a lifetime of puberty. |
Me too. It really started to curl when I was entering perimenopause. |
| Mine went from straight to wavy /curly during my second pregnancy. That second kid is 31 now and my hair is still curly. It's beautiful but it tangles so easily that I hardly ever wear it down. Now that I am post menopausal, my hair is getting thinner, so I am very meticulous about combing it gently so I don't yank any hairs out. |
| Mine turned curly during puberty as well. I'm pregnant with #2 and I hope it doesn't change back! I love my curls |
| My cousin's slightly wavy hair turned very curly after she hit puberty. (And my blond hair turned mousy brown right after my second pregnancy). |
| My hair went from straight and thick to very wavy/curly seemingly overnight when I was in my early 20s. No changes in medication, environment, etc. I'm in my early 40s now and multiple pregnancies unfortunately did not make it revert back to straight. I do have an autoimmune disease, albeit one that only manifested/ was diagnosed in the past few years and has been relatively mild after it's initial appearance. I wonder if that has something to do with it, except that the timing doesn't really match up. |
| My hair went from just slightly wavy to a mix of curls/strong waves when I was in college. People thought I had gotten a perm. |
