2020 Lexus RX gets a refresh

We have the older RX and while the new one is slightly better to drive, it’s awful to look at. Instead of toning down the front, they went all in:

We are literally looking for an older model RX to get the better looking front end. I am amazed they doubled down on it. It looks so aggressive and ugly, like a horrible angry face. The older Lexus, even 2006-07, look so much better and like they could be from the last few years.

With all the modern safety requirements, the grille is pretty much the only place to add some sort of trademark look.

That’s why every coupe and sports car also looks so chunky and huge, the ‘belt line’ has to be super high up.

We refer to it as the “Predator Grille”. Which is why we’ve refrained from buying the Lexus suv since 2010.

The problem with the RX is that the size keeps growing and growing.

My MIL drives a 10 year old RX250. Great car that’s built to last and it’s the perfect size for our semi-urban area of NW DC and Bethesda with small parking lots and street driving. The newer RX’s are just getting obnoxiously large.
