if you buy plain whole milk yogurt for DC instead of yobaby flavored...

I think that any kind of plain, whole milk yogurt, preferably organic, is fine. We buy the tubs from Whole Foods, which are a good deal. Our kid will eat whatever kind of yogurt we give him. He is picky about some foods but not yogurt.

My 10 month old has been eating all different brands of whole milk plain yogurt for a few months now, he loves it. I do buy the Yobaby six pack sometimes because it is one less step in our crazed morning routine, and I don't feel any angst about the sugar. I tried doing that whole perfect holistic parenting thing with my first child, and used to defrost and puree/chop organic frozen berries etc into plain yogurt to avoid the dreaded Yobaby. He wound up with E.coli that was attributed to blueberries, just after his first birthday. He made it through with no lasting issues, but it taught me not to sweat the small stuff like a little sugar in Yobaby. Everyone needs to do what is right for them and their families, but let's not turn Yobaby into a litmus test for proper parenting.

Most parents want to do their best. Sugared yogurt the first thing in the morning is a pretty poor start to the day. Your child will not miss the sugar unless you get him/her hooked on it. Why do that???
