If Fairfax only allows you to take two core classes per year then how do you graduate on time? I’m confused by this. Do you have to meet all state high school requirements if you go to fusion for a few years and then back into public? If you only took two classes a year you would be behind. |
You would take 2 core FCPS classes per year IN ADDITIOn to those you did via homeschooling. PP was saying you could cover 2 credits through FCPS and another 4 or 5 via Fusion to stay on time. If you transfer into a FCPS high school from any other private or public school, you must meet all of the graduation requirements. You'd get credit for those you took elsewhere that are equivalent but you'd probably have some gaps to fill in. |

12:39 explained it very well. I also wanted to add: FCPS will only allow home schoolers to take core classes. They are not allowed to take electives. Fusion has their own requirements for HS graduation which are somewhat different from FCPS. Fusion only has one kind of HS diploma, unlike FCPS which has Standard or Advanced. You will have to figure out where your child will need to graduate and then plan accordingly based on those requirements. |
