| Mine is at Chevy Chase and has some Bs. Not just in the subcategories, but in a few of the overall grades. OP, I'm curious, has that been your child's experience at Chevy Chase CES too? |
| NP with CC CES 4th grader. I think a B in one subject (or one of its subcategories) which is DC's least-favorite area, and also relatively weakest. Occasionally a C on an assignment and plenty of Bs sprinkled in there. |

OP, are you trying to say that every single CES 4th grader is expected to only get As in every single course? If they do, I'd say something is wrong with the program.

I don’t think that’s the expectation, but it’s not like they grade on a curve. These kids are all very sharp, regardless of what the “sky is falling” crowd claims. Why shouldn’t they all do well? |

OP here. I’m just wondering what actually happens. Mine has gotten all As except this last quarter the online grades show two Bs in subcategories. So I’m trying to figure out if a B is a B or if there’s grade inflation and a B is more like a real-life C or D.
It would be fun to know who the other CCCES 4th grade parents are on this board besides me! Maybe we could have a secret hand signal we flash.

Our DC is at CCES CES. I have only one data point - our DC's - but what I can is that your experience isn't all that different from ours. But on the other hand, it's not like you'd expect folks to post that their kids were getting C's and D's. This forum tends to be an echo chamber. |

Why is this even a question? Many kids tear open their report cards in class or in the hallway and swap. DD is among them and hasn't seen a single child with all As. Usually a mix of As and Bs.
Hope that makes you feel better. |
