Will I regret not doing goodie bags?

We never do them and no one has asked about it.

Right? She'd better get over it quick. Goodie bags are only for other kids, not for her!

Great idea!

I have done piñatas and also flower crowns for a fairy party — everyone wore them at the party and took them home. That’s it... honestly I really appreciate when people reign it in and we don’t end up with a bag of plastic crap. Things like pencils, paint boxes, bubbles, play dough are OK, if you must.

?? Obviously if you are handing them out, she'd like one. But she does not expect them at all and if they were completely absent from a party that would be totally fine.

We have been to parties without goodie bags and my kids don’t notice! They’re happy to have fun and cake. Don’t worry about it.

I like goody bags that have no plastic junk

I've never done goody bags. No guilt or regret either!

I have wavered too in the past. I went ahead and did them, bc honestly, they’re only young once and it makes my kids so happy. They won’t do goody bags forever...

Plenty of threads with ideas for favors. We've done piñata with candy, a craft, a pair of superhero socks, a coloring book, and a take-home toy for different parties and they've all been more than happy. We've also done a standard bag full of plastic crap, too!

My 4YO is very aware if there is no goody bag. We'll get to the car where he'll notice and then think he's the only kid who didn't get one (doesn't believe me when I tell him no one got one!). Call him spoiled, but he's so much happier when he "gets" something to take home from a birthday party.

My kid has noticed, and asked me about it, I tell her there isn't anything, and she's forgotten about it by the time we've driven away. Don't worry about it.

*Kids aren't going to talk about it, don't let those PPs shame you into getting goodie bags, that's ridiculous.

Just be prepared that there will be a kid or two that asks where it is before leaving.

It's rude, but they don't know that, just be honest "we don't have a goody bag, I hope you had a lot of fun and enjoyed the cake and games. Thank you for coming, bye"

It comes up among DCs friends after half the parties that followed DC's.

Unless somehow you are in a birthday circuit where half don't do goodie bags....

btdt

This. This is why I did them. Ugh.
