8th grade and 5th grade graduations - do you give gifts?

I grew up in FCPS. I remember 6th grade graduation being a big deal and my grandparents did send a gift and I got one from my parents. 8th grade not so much since I was only there 2 years. My niece is graduating from 6th grade this year and going on her first overseas trip, so I'm giving her a card and some money.

Last night (Tues) was our 5th grader's "promotion" ceremony from ES.

We met up with his 2 best friends & their families at the Silver Diner for ice cream sundaes.

It was perfect, especially since we didn't get out of there until 9pm & most other ice cream places were closed.

They had a blast - that was their gift.
