Has anyone successfully lived in two cities while kids are in school?

The people I know who did this were older parents (esp older dads) who essentially retired and started the snowbird life while their kid was in middle/high school. Kid went off to boarding school, dad retired and started doing the snowbird thing in FL or AZ.

Palm Beach Day Academy used to serve the same purpose, though it's now a full school.

Here's another school, also in S Florida, that has a similar program for students who are only in the area for part of the year.

I have relatives who do this and they are from beach towns that shut down for the winter. Their parents go to Florida every winter for other work. I think it works out okay for them.
