100 for 70 spots

140 boys.

Does anyone know how many 2011 girls are there in ASA rec program? Is it around 500 (8 players x ~60 teams)?

There are 40 teams for second grades girls with about 8 kids each team.

So a player just needs to be above average - top three on an eight-player roster, to make ADP, assuming the stars go to travel. Does that sound about right?

Depends on the year. For the current girls 09 they added a team and took all or almost all who tried out last year.

They post it rather quick - but for ADP you have to really stand out or passed on travel team (normally offered a lower spot) - so the try outs are misleading. For girls 20-30 spots or so are already taken by girls who passed on travel; they opt in to ADP.

Boys maybe less.

Is this true- that girls passing on travel are an automatic in for adp? It’s the first I’ve heard of it.

Every U10 girl who tried out last year got a spot, so no one that age was squeezed out by would be travel players in any case. Don’t know about other years.

Yes, for boys or girls who pass on travel offer they can play down in ADP without trying out.

There're 30 girls passed on U9 travel spots? Is that unusual?

Maybe people are coming to their senses about the lower travel tiers.

Do they release results for each group as that group’s tryouts are finished, or do they release all the results at once at the end?

Message from last year:

We expect to notify players of the outcome of the tryout within 7 days after the last tryout for your age group. At a minimum, I will send an e-mail once selections are posted to the website.

Does this mean 8 days after all girls u9 finishes which was last Wednesday or once all u9 is completed which won’t be until the 18th as boys got one more tryout?

The boys haven't even had their rescheduled practice yet.

Has anyone from any group gotten results yet? Our tryouts were less than a week ago, just trying to figure out if we’re likely to hear in the next few days or will have to wait until after that make-up practice next week. Kid is driving me nuts wanting to know when they might hear.rrr
