Second baby: earlier or later, better or worse labor than first?

1st, 2 weeks early, long tough labor, tiny baby, sore for days
2nd, a few days late, very quick labor (3 hours start to finish), 8 lb baby, felt great right after delivery and practically hopped into the wheelchair that they made me ride in to get from L&D to postpartum
3rd, a day late, longer labor but only 3 hours active and very fast pushing, also felt great after
4th, 5 days late, 1 hour labor(!) and not really that painful (didn’t believe how this was a real thing until it happened to me), felt great again after

Labor started the same date with both (39w4d). First was born 2 days later; second was born 1 day later. Second was much easier, but that’s because I learned from my first experience and got the epidural.
