Ha! I never realized that was the reason I stopped watching it without any guilt and regrets.

Don't spoil me and give any details, just tell me one thing - do these two rats get what they richly deserve? Because seriously, screw these two. /endrant

(Thanks everyone. It's nice to get this off my chest instead of yelling at the TV lol.)

You are supposed to despise them. That's the point. Do you think you are supposed to like every lead character in a TV show?

OP here. In this particular context, I don't like despicable lead characters. I love America and I don't enjoy a show where the story rewards horrible people being selfish f**king with my country. It just goes against my most core values, and really, our core values tend to make us love or hate stories.

I do love an anti-hero given the right storyline, but these two aren't anti-heroes...they're the worst villains imaginable and the plot continues to reward them for it.

Show fell off a cliff after they killed off the journalist Zoe. I think that was first ep of season 2? Season 1 was terrific.

Truly awful afterwards. A corny soap opera. Can’t believe it lasted another 3-4 seasons.

I really adored Season 1 (I'm the OP). So, so good. That's what I mean when I said earlier that this show was so intelligently written in the beginning, it's a shame.

Anyway, to each their own! If others have enjoyed this show then I'm glad they did.
