We are at a non-W MS and my kid was asked to choose a writing sample that they sent to the MS for incoming 6th graders. I was wondering about this also because ALL kids are in Advanced English 6.

But, MCPS is a sh$tshow, so who knows what the point of the exercise is.

Advanced English isn’t the Enriched course.

In our school, ALL kids are enrolled the ENRICH, MAGNET-ISH, whatever you want to call it class. It's such a joke.

What is the Enriched Language Arts course then?

My kid was asked by her 5th grade CES ELA teacher to choose a writing sample to send to the MS as an incoming 6th grader. I doubt they're asking for Writing Samples to evaluate placement for Advanced Math/AIM.

If every student is in the class, then regular English is just called advanced to placate parents.
