captains chair SUV

I do want captains chair without the console in the middle for easy pass through.

I really don’t want a minivan because I think that is too big. Street parking in the city and a tight garage at work.

The Subaru Ascent has the highest ranking of any mid-size SUV according to Consumer Reports, and it is not close. We purchased one with the 2nd-row captain's chairs three months ago and have absolutely loved it, thus far, for our family of five.

How's the acceleration on the Ascent? Not OP, but looking at various 3-row SUVs. I liked the interior of the Ascent (haven't driven it yet) but have read that it's a little anemic on acceleration, both in a DCUM post and elsewhere in reviews.

For the OP, I've driven a Sienna for 8 years. It is easier to park and drive in the city/parking garages than DH's 3-row Enclave. I'm going away from a minivan, but I expect whatever third row SUV I end up with to be about the same or a little worse in that area.

My sister just bought the Telleride with captain seats and absolutely loves it. The kids now fight to pass through to sit in very back.
