Funny you say that. I listen to the 70’s channel on Sirius all the time. That was my 12-20 year old period. The music lifts me up and makes me optimistic happy and reflective. You are right!
It's brain science. That's when the adolescent brain develops and basically wires itself for life. NPR did a segment on it a million years ago about why certain songs from your youth have such an impact. Similarly, it's why nursing homes play certain songs from certain eras for residents (and dementia patients).
Everyone has a soundtrack for their life.
