| 4 kids, 3 inductions (first was overdue, other two were induced at 39 weeks due to clotting disorder unknown at time of first pregnancy). All went well. My worst labor was the one NOT induced! He was also overdue and it ended up being an extremely fast (dangerously fast) and intense labor. The inductions were fine, and all ended with vaginal births and healthy kids. |
| Was induced at 39 weeks with my third. Got to hospital at 6 am, had babe in arms just before noon. Since it was the only time I went for an epidural, it was by far my most pleasant birth experience. |
This is almost exactly what happened to me. I was worried about the induction, but actually, I think it just helped move everything along and get it done quickly. Totally uneventful, good experience! |

| I've been induced twice (DD1 low fluid at 39 weeks, DD2 IUGR at 37 weeks) and loved it both times. Easy labor, delivery, and recovery. If we go for a third, I'll hope for another induction! |

Mine took forever. my advice...no pitocin until your epidural is in. It was all fine until I had pitocin without an epidural...awful.
But positive...i had a healthy baby boy delivered vaginally which was my goal (although I know i'm just lucky, one cannot control whether you need an emergency intervention). I know its hard, but you have to trust your providers and speak up for yourself if needed. |
Plus doing all that stuff is the opposite of staying calm. I felt crazy when I did all that. I was sobbing while I got induced at 42 weeks both times. I was so upset. But it was okay and being induced was better than trying to make the baby come. I was having sex 2x a day, bouncing on a ball, walking all night long, using a breast pump all while still working full time. That’s hell on earth. Induction was painful but wasn’t that bad. At least there was an end in sight. |
