Normal pregnancy after a miscarriage in an “old” woman?

Had 1st kid at 35; 1st m/c at 38; second kid at 40. It's a common story.

Did you wait a cycle or just tried right after the miscarriage? I’m in the same boat right now.


I’m the PP you quoted, I missed this. I had a D&C but tried right away with the OK from my OB.

We started TTC 3 months post MC and conceived right away.

Miscarriages are common and are not always due to age, OP. Although of course it becomes more common as you get older. I had one miscarriage between each of my three kids, and I was in my late twenties/early thirties. It’s very likely you’ll get pregnant again and have a healthy baby.

Not that pp, but I had healthy pregnancies at 41 and 44 without ART.

I did try ART earlier, but it didn’t work for me. These were natural conceptions, though I was on supplements and timing intercourse.

chemical at 39
2nd baby at 40, hopefully (about to deliver - waiting for induction on Tuesday)
