This is the most valuable thing I have learned from this forum, by far.

Only if you are very talented and/or don't care about which team.

Many top teams in the area don't have room on their rosters. Their lower teams will. The kid can often practice with a top team if they are of that level, but can't be rostered.

I agree that there is a spot of anyone at almost every club anytime of the year, but for very competitive teams, not--unless your kid is a very clear standout.
