Thank you. I needed that. OP. |
Total BS. Did you hear about the power steering? |
It's a great idea. It already exists though, and works quite well. OP, did you see the link upthread? (Not the photo the youtube). |
Ageism right there. Would you say the same thing to a little person? A paraplegic? No, because they use adaptive devices and can safely drive. To say all elderly people everywhere who may need some help to get in and out of the car shouldn’t drive means you are an ageist. |
Fixing the link: |
OP. Oh, great! Not half bad. Although I think it would be bit easier on older people if this thing would not twist and turn but just slide away outside and slide back in and the car would be especially adjusted to the height of a person so it would not require much lifting or lowering anything. Simply slide out, slide in like a drawer but the seat would be front facing all the time. Than again, anything really as long as it would be very popular and people would easily find it. I also wish that it would be available for all spots, the driver, the front seat and if needed be the back but it is usually the case that elderly people either drive alone or in two's so most likely just the front. Thanks for sharing the video! It was nice to watch. |
If you are struggling to be a kind person then you should not be posting. Yes, pp, Ageism indeed. I am getting this person who posted it must know as much about people who are older then him about zero? Neither knows nor cares. Nice human being. I get the news for you pal. .. the old age is coming for you too and the young inconsiderate people like you are following. |

I like your idea, OP. It seems like it would be a simpler mechanism than the seats that swivel.
And to those saying older people should be content with being dependent on others to drive them around—I hope you never find yourself in that position. It is very important to overall health and well-being to be as self-sufficient for as long as possible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for access to an exoskeleton and self-driving car before I completely disintegrate. |
. It would work for the passenger side too. |
| I think that is why many SUVs remain popular with people - as they are higher up, they are much easier to get in and out of than sedans. This is true for old people, people with knee or back problems etc. |
And sliding door minivans since the door doesn’t get in the way of wheelchairs and people. |
Uh, how about our passengers who need to get to their doctors' appointments and to church, etc. |

I plan to buy my next vehicle when I am age 62 and drive it until age 77. My plan when it comes time to decide what vehicle to purchase is that I will go to the Honda dealership and the Toyota dealership and climb in and out of all their four cylinder vehicles. Whichever one is the easiest to climb in and out of is the one that I will buy.
