Live and learn: check stats how many people are ejected from the car during the roolover despite!!!! wearing the seatbelts. they do not protect you much in rollover, as much as front impact and yet even then not alwas. |
The seatbelts are not doing anything much for you when the car starts rolling. They only protect you from the front impact really, not even the side. If the car ends up upside down you go plop.. plop.. and or outside you fly as it rolls. |

There are many cases of sunroofs actually shattering out of the blue. My parents were driving their new Subaru Outback when their sunroof/moonroof just shattered. They stopped and called the police thinking maybe someone had thrown a rock at their car. Nope. It just shattered while they were driving.
I went on line to research this and apparently their are class actions against various car makers -- including Subaru for spontaneously shattering sunroofs. |
| Volvo I think is the best, it has two glass layers sandwiched with a layer of plastic inbetwen so worse case scenario if there is some force that makes the sunroof to shutter then the cabin is not showered with tinny pieces of safety glass. So far upon my research I was not able to find that many brands that use this technology except maybe Tesla. Maybe Volvo patented that or something? |
