Getting a babysitter to leave when shift is over...

Do your babysitters work as nannies during the week? I've found nannies tend to provide more information on child's night/behavior than typical babysitters.

Exactly. I do the same. It drives me crazy but the truth is she takes better care of my kid and house than the college kids who run out. Someday I may be lonely like her so I try not to kick her out immediately.

This is the best response. If she doesn’t leave after 5 mins, then do one of the other tricks suggested.

You poor thing! You sound friendly and probably make people very comfortable. I agree with the poster who said to thank her and then say you’re going to go up and change. Since she’s regular, I wouldn’t walk her to the door even. I would just playfully say, “I’m going to go upstairs and change, thank you for everything. (Playfully say) You’re off duty now! Go enjoy your evening and we’ll see you tomorrow! Don’t worry about locking the door behind you.” As you walk off to go upstairs.

Aren’t regular sitters paid biweekly?
