HHI for single income families?

I worked in biglaw and my spouse stayed home with our 4 kids the entire time. Started at around $65k in the late 80s, was making around $400k in the early 2000s, and quit working at 52 around 5 years ago when our youngest graduated college. By then I was making around $1 million.

We pretty much spent everything we earned after maxing out retirement until the last 10 of my working years when the money got bigger. When I quit we had about $4 million banked and in the years that have followed its grown to about $5.5 million.

This looks like a brag fest. You can do it on $100-125K if you live in a smaller house and watch what you spend.
