Actually no, Denver is soaring in cost of living right now. Atlanta, Charlotte also on the way up. So are a lot of other cities. And you just wait... next on the list will be Western "outdoorsy + hipster" cities like Bozeman and Boise. Low cost Rust Belt cities are rusting away for a reason. |

This was funny for a few sentences, but then I remembered how baby boomers stole all the wealth for themselves and ruined the environment in the process
Screw all of you |
Not Op, but .... you have a lot more wisdom at 35 then at 25, it's just a fact. You've experienced more of life's ups and downs, hopefully more ups than downs. And stop with the "cool story" crap, it's so juvenile. |
No I did not rob you of wealth, get a job (or three as I had at one point) save your money, stay out of Starbucks and stop your whining. Your welcome. |
Already did all that. The person who sold me a house for 5x what they paid and the people in Congress who just made my taxes go up took my wealth |
Have you read it? |
Unfortunately for me (first pp), I really tried. It was such drivel I couldn’t even get through it. There are too many excellent books in the world for me to waste my time on Ayn Rand. |
I have. I have also read The Fountainhead. Which is why I categorically think less of people who quote Ayn Rand. “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." -John Rogers |

You might want to preach to your peers, instead.
1. Don't let your kids take on buckets of debt. State schools. If you can't get into UMCP, then do a year or two at MC. 2. Crash with roommates or your parents and save a nest egg. 3. Don't live above your means. 4. Find a good partner. 5. Don't have kids until you can afford them. 6. Don't buy a home or car you can't afford. 7. Don't be a jerk. |
