What happened to wood beds/headboards?

Anonymous
bought a nice big wood headboard from ..... Pier One. Then, stole an idea from hotels (none too fancy) and attached it to the wall, since it was king size and heavy and big and my headup-footup foundations had no where to attach it. Used special brackets that slid together.

Also wanted a bed frame that had no space underneath, also like hotels, to keep dust and stuff from under there. no luck so far.

The wood being used for these is neither expensive nor non-sustainable. So sleep well.

Have you looked at allmodern.com? I LOVE this wood bed. My husband and I are going to try to make something similar since it's way too expensive for us

I like allmodern, but am nervous about ordering a bed online sight unseen since i really liked a bunch of beds at CB2 and then was surprised at how LOW to the ground they were when we went to look at them.

This one is really nice, and it's a great price (for us, sorry).

I hate fabric because of allergies and because leaning on the headboard leaves marks over time that don't come off. They're just gross after about a year, unlike wood which you can have for years.

Wood is more expensive to ship from China.

If you want a wood bed you have to go high end.

Try “furniture land south” for American made brands including wood beds

Vintage / second hand. Lots of wood beds out there people are exchanging for the soon to.be dirty and full.of allergens upholstered look. The Amish furniture is also nice.

Yes, and they’re terrible for people with allergies.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I swear I think that people who make money off dopo selling furniture start these trends because they know consumers will want/need to replace it in a few years because it is filthy and too difficult to clean.

I am PP and I am with you 100% on this theory.

Agree.

Looks like overpriced garbage.

Stickley had wooden beds that sit rather high and have a modern line as well as the arts and crafts stuff. They are $$ and crazy heavy, though.
