I’m a journalist in DC. I’ve covered local news here since 1993. I’ve known Trayon White ever since he was a teenage community activist haranguing Tony Williams at crime scenes on Alabama Ave.

He has worked tirelessly to make Ward 8, and east of the river in general, a better, safer place for the people who live there. He’s not a polished guy. He didn’t go to an Ivy. And he doesn’t give a damn what white people in Bethesda think about him. He knows whom he represents, and their opinion, not DCUM’s, are what matters to him. And it baffles me why DCUM can’t seem to comprehend that. I mean, you went to Ivies. You should be able to figure this out.

It seems like you're saying that he knows he can get away with antisemitic comments, because his constituents won't care, and perhaps even that he makes those comments because he thinks they will help him with his constituents.

I hope that's not right. But if it is, he sure is a well-qualified successor to Marion Barry.

I don’t see how you’re so worked up about this considering the Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that Councilmember Trayon White was not the driver involved in the accident, nor was he in the car at the time the accident took place. Guess you’re just eager to rant, huh?
