Do you follow your kids' friends on social media?

+1. It would be helpful to know the ages of the children we’re discussing. My daughter is a college freshman and Pretty much all of her close friends follow me and vice versa.

OP here. 12 years. I and grandparent follow so I think that's enough. I know this person to be nosey and just don't want her following.

but that's ^^^ not what OP was asking.

I do but ONLY if they follow me first. and I also never comment on their posts, except for the occasional a "thumbs up".

No. And I don’t like it when my DD gets requests from adults. Family is one thing, but parents of friends or parents of teammates, I think is weird. Why would a non-related adult want to see what a 12 yo girl is posting?

I don’t care about the other kid, but mine shows up in a lot of their posts.

Agree with the college kids. And I’m excited to see that Larla was accepted to a great grad school program I’ve known her since she was 10, etc etc

I’m one of the PPs who follows DD’s friends who as to follow me first. One of those friends has a very tough transition to high school socially, and that comes through on her social media. Her parents don’t follow her, and I think she wanted a trusted adult to see some of her posts.

Same here and it’s strange how many have requested to follow me!
One of my son's friends requested to follow me but I didn't follow her back. She's a 13 year old girl that I never see or talk to, feels weird for me to follow her back. I don't mind if she follows me.
