Save your breath, it’s just the usual over invested parents and us Soccer haters chest thumping. You can’t take any of the anti us Soccer crap posted on this site seriously anymore. The appropriate response is to laugh at the silly spinning.

You're right. Some of the previous comments are so self-serving and uninformed if they even knew these clubs. It's funny how they are celebrating NYC FC when that was never even an ECNL club. The DA showed they were competitive by allowing them to compete. The ECNl would like to think it owns all the talent, but it doesn't. It has its own collection of weak clubs.

Parents? Doubtful. This back and forth is about business and trying to get market share. Parents are not that confused about the debate. It is all kind of meh at this point and we all hold our noses and try to find something that works.

It is funny that DA parents think they are defending US Soccer as if DA and US Soccer are one and the same. People can think that DA is struggling and believe ECNL is improving and not be anti US Soccer.

NYCFC was the DA side of World Class of NJ. Same fields, staff, etc. I’m pretty sure the website used to spell it out. So NYCFC leaving to go to ECNL is just ECNL getting an original club back.

PP stated US Soccer is a rare case where the national governing body tries to run the top youth leagues in the country. It’s certainly something to think about. STA could not get into ecnl because of geography. Look at a map some time. Same with South Shore. Politics and geography.

There are anti DA people at US Soccer too or so I hear.

Did not make it out the group at Jeff cup last year at 03

http://events.gotsport.com/events/results.aspx?EventID=61043&GroupID=656599&Gender=Girls&Age=15

02 was not in top bracket

01 was 1-1-1 in top bracket

http://events.gotsport.com/events/schedule.aspx?EventID=61043&GroupID=656619&Gender=Girls&Age=17

00&99 also not top bracket.

Let's be real here: the top bracket of Jeff Cup is a tough bracket. Many ECNL teams can't compete there and don't. As for the 03s, they were decent last year and even better this year. Last year, they tied Maryland United ECNL, which is a strong club and one of their strong age groups. They beat McLean ECNL at a showcase in the fall by 3-0 and beat FC Stars ECNL 3-1. Could VDA do that? Loudoun? They would certainly give Richmond United a lot to think about. They were in a different group than BRYC, but they qualified for the same bracket. And what bracket are most of our local ECNL 03 teams playing in?

And not every age group is equally strong. Anyone here want to pretend BRYC has a strong 02 group? How about VDA?

No one is saying South Shore Select is the end all, be all of clubs, but they are solid and competitive for any DA or ECNL conference. Take your pick.

South Shore 03 is good, but relies heavily on two YNT girls, including Allison Sentnor. Even she couldn't help them from getting destroyed 5-1 by SUSA at last year's Jeff Cup.

I suspect USSoccer had in interest in ensuring their young starlet was seen in the DA, and likely the reason the whole club went DA.

That's not totally untrue, but the same can be said of a lot of clubs - including NYC FC's U17s. They have 2 good players (1 YNT player). Without them, they are very average.

I'm from MA... Many SSS families are unhappy about the move to GDA. Scorpions ECNL is very close to SSS location-wise and will probably get a ton of players. SSS will also have to grant lots of HS waivers if they want to keep players. AS--the U15 player that just played for the U18 WNT in England--plays HS soccer.

Do any of you people work or do you just argue all day about which is better--ECNL or DA? Wow, talk about extra time on your hands...

I don't disbelieve you. However, my experience is that almost any time there is a change, people get upset. Many families got unhappy with the boys' DA, many families got unhappy when the ECNL came along, and many families got unhappy when futsal first showed up on the scene.

I had a coach poopoo ECNL to me when it came along, talk about the higher prices and further travel and tell me how such and such elite teams were better. The same coach was selling me on ECNL 2 years later.

I also know ECNL players who take a pass on high school soccer. So do what's right for your family. God knows you now have plenty of options. Just keep your mind open as well. She may not even enjoy high school soccer. It all depends.

Sure, same reason Crossfire is leaving. All that you are saying is they are certainly ECNL quality - i.e. top tier clubs - which I agree with.
