Alicia Keys "No Make Up"

Anonymous
I think the point is that she does not want to set the example that you have to wear heavy makeup to change the way you naturally look.

That said, she is super sketch for dating someone who was married and that just doesn't sit well with me. I still like her, but don't LOVE her.

Right, you just need a professional make up artist and lots of product to make you look like you are naturally flawless.

Her "no make up" stance.....I mean, come on....her "no make up" look was totally created WITH make up. Her face and her beautifully radiant, glowing chest, WITH make up. I guess what bothers me is that she makes this big statement about "I'm tired of caring so much what others think" like it is supposed to be this liberating thing and instead she puts in as much effort still to look like she isn't trying. If the point is to lift women up and inspire them to be themselves, is it really helpful to pretend that she is going natural, when she really isn't? There are articles out there about the layers of oils, foundations, shimmery products and process of jade rolling etc. to the tune of hundreds of dollars to achieve her effortless look. Just because she isn't wearing obvious colors on her face, is this really any more "real"???

Her beauty has also been enhanced by two rhinoplasty procedures.

Maybe that's why she looked 30 years younger than Michelle...

She's trash. Knowingly intimate with a man who was with someone else. Obviously he's worse.

I agree. She has makeup on..probably for lighting, but still, there is make up. I dont think she knows how to backpeddle this, but wants to. I want her to, also.

I’d believe the DM airport pics are no makeup. But that’s about it.

I don’t know, I’ve seen her only on the voice and I thought she was pretentious, not genuine and felt that she thought she was all that.

Comparing her actual talents and Grammys to Blake's, she is all that and more. And I like Blake, I'm just saying he gets a lot of success for not much.

Difference is he is unapologetically unpretentious. He’s never been, or done, “glitz and glamour” and then made a statement to not bet that way, to make a statement.

I think she is beyond talented, and a buNch of other wonderful things, but I think it’s “the statement” that turns people off. Much like people hate performance art Gaga... but seem to like her when she strips her makeup off. It’s abiut being more genuine, or at least what the audience thinks you are.

He lobbied shamelessly to be People mag Sexiest Man Alive and then played the “awe shucks” for ever. Which is his total MO. You just fell for it.

I knew nothing about her relationship and this thread prompted me to research. EWWwwwwwww! He has a whole bunch of kids from a whole bunch of affairs! But now his ex and Alicia are besties and writing books together about co-parenting. LOL.

Yes, "the statement" as if she is so profound and above it all. If you want to go for a natural look, good for you, go for it, but don't pretend that you're just waking up like that.

The only make up she is NOT wearing is heavy eye makeup. Especially lashes. Otherwise I think she had as much product as any other celebrity has on. It’s just muted and natural color.

Alicia used to have TERRIBLE skin. Whew. She got rich and famous and obviously was able to tackle her skin in a way that's inaccessible to most people, which is why I thought her whole "no makeup" stance was annoying--she would have never done this when her face was a mess.

The Wiki entry in Swizz Beats (Dean):

Dean and singer Mashonda Tifrere began dating in 1998. Their first pregnancy ended in a stillbirth in 2000.[68] In 2000, Dean's son, Prince Nasir, with Nicole Levy was born.[69] Dean and Tifrere married in 2004.[70] In December 2006, their son, Kasseem Dean, Jr. was born.[69] Dean also has a daughter Nicole, born in May 2008, with UK-based singer Jahna Sabastian, whom he met in 2007.
