To me it sounds like they have been out together but are not officially dating or bf/GF. There's something about his behavior with one particular female friend that has tingled op's Spidey senses. She's asked the guy what the story is between them and he says they are just friends. Op is asking if she should trust her gut that the relationship is not purely platonic and move on and not deepen the relationship with this guy.

DCUMers are so dramatic. Nothing in op's post makes it sound like cheating or like she's threatened. Get a grip!

I'd assume they were eff buddies and that wouldn't work out for me so I'd lose interest and move on.

I feel that eff buddies are quick to not see/blur the boundaries with actual relationships and get jealous/not respect the other's relationships when they start serious ones.

Ain't got time for that silliness.
