Advice about when to take foreign language

I don't think that's the motivation mainly--but you don't want your kid to be penalized in the college app process because of the timing of their foreign language. For instance, one issue for kids who do partial immersion in elementary school is that they if they get really into it, they can easily 'run out' of advanced language classes in their high school in that language.

So my son is getting his IB diploma and started taking French in eighth grade.
