Off-topic I suppose, but when did "follow your bliss" become such a trendy little expression? It's so precious and twee it makes me gag. |
Hmmm, a failed marriage and a personality that invokes hatred?
I dislike what she's done to my child's school, but the notion that my dislike is rooted in envy over her shoes is a stretch. |
I didn't realize it was trendy, since I've heard since the 60s! Oh dear, that really dates me. |

Follow your bliss.
Writer/philosopher Joseph Campbell made this sentiment popular. |
I like the expression follow your bliss. Have never heard it before (and I'm pretty trendy). I also like the expression 'trendy and twee'. Kudos to both of you. |
You guys are low, making assumptions about the type of parent she is. I have no personal knowledge of her parenting, but I was at a meeting at 825 and saw her kids arrive (after school- 4ish). They clearly knew everyone in the office. I wish her and her family all the best, and hope she stays in DC to continue the good work, and fighting the good fight.

OK, but I'm curious. What do you consider to be her accomplishments? |
Those aren't the reasons I don't like Michelle Rhee. I don't like her "know-it-all" attitude and her treatment of the teachers who have toiled away thanklessly for years in the DCPS and she acts like they are the enemy. |
I have great shoes and great sex with a guy who worships me. I don't like Michelle Rhee's actions and policies. She is a fame seeker who invokes all sorts of unintended consequences for our kids with her misguided policies. Not a life I am envious of or a conscience I would want to have. |
