APS School on Tuesday?

They will definitely call a two hour delay tonight. After the last storm where they messed up, they said that’s their new policy if they’re not sure. Then they may decide later to close. Even though I live on a county road, since we’re on a cul-de-sac they never come, so our HOA pays the landscaping to plow, so our street is clear. I suspect all other cul-de-sacs are still bad and will refreeze.

My APS source says that they won’t have school tomorrow due to the refreeze and they’ll announce at around 6 PM.

No way. Closed Tuesday.

No reason for a delay. Open on time. This strange snow event is rapidly melting away.

So what is the thought for Wednesday then? It seems like it would be silly to do a 2 hour delay and then have an early release...

They extended to 3pm Tuesday.

This is our first year with a sidewalk. I shocked yesterday but it all covered again overnight.

So I have till 3pm Tuesday?

I heard that plowing/clearing lots and sidewalks at schools most likely won't be done on time. I think they might be closed since it will re-freeze tonight. But, at the very least there will be a delay.

Judging by past storms of this magnitude, there usually are 2 days minimum of closures.

We live nextdoor to a school. It is clear, sidewalks and parking lot.

Yes. Arlington County FB page says that they extended it to 3pm Tuesday. Generally it is 24 hours post the end of the storm. So the storm ended at 3am Monday and sidewalks would have to be shoveled by 3am Tuesday, absent the extension.

Umm. Yes, they did. IT is posted on their FB page. It says 2 hour delay. IT says to at the time AP plans to open schools and offices two hours late tomorrow and that they will reconfirm or update the status by 6am.
