That was not reported in the overseas Chinese press.

11 accepted last year from Blair, which only has 100 students in the magnet program, unlike TJ, which is a whole magnet school.

11 magnet students accepted from a program which is 20% the size of TJ

Yes because the top is the top. The two schools pull from roughly the same population.

From that population both in VA and MD about 10-15 get accepted.

Yeah, I am pretty sure if you only pull top 20 students from Maryland, there will still 10 students that will be able to make to MIT.

It was always a rigged system, with agents in China packaging applicants in exchange for big money from parents, and universities turning a blind eye because they loved all the money from full-pay international students. A better solution would be to require applicants to come to the US to take their SATs and sit for an in-person English exam.

A New York Times analysis concluded 90% of Chinese applications include fraudulent elements: https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_1074544?ec_carp=8606710182779242733

I'm sure the colleges who go out of their way to accept these full pay students are "shocked" "shocked" to find there's been cheating going.

Chinese students probably went to Oxford and Cambridge. They know better.

Many brilliant students in China for sure, but the widespread fraud and cheating going on there (and many people there don't feel shamed for it) really have people here hesitating and guessing who of them are real. It really hurts those chinese students that are good and honest.

China as a society is amoral

They cheat on everything and it's totally accepted

They also killed my doc with their poisoned dog food that was meant to trick a specific nutritional test

Happy to see those cheaters stuck in their own orwellian country and not getting into schools here

+1000. I once ate an egg roll and got a stomach ache. I hope they all leave and go back to their own country.

You are obviously hearing things. Go take your meds. And you obviously can't see what's going on right in front of your own eyes in your own back yard. David Hogg in Harvard? Obama in Yale and Harvard?
