Male here. My favorite song of all time is Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
I enjoy most renditions but, if I had to pick one it would be by Don Potter.
Interesting note, this was also my mother’s favorite song and it is my partner’s favorite as well. We’ve been together 10 years, we’re both 62 so we didn’t influence each other on this.

My other very favorite is Long & Winding Road by Paul McCartney. A beautiful ballad of a life traveled.

Another 58 here but feel like my musical choices are skewing older:

Dead: Uncle John's Band
Carole King: Tapestry or You've Got a Friend or Natural Woman
Joni Mitchell: Circle Game
Jim Croce: Time in a Bottle
Meatloaf: Two out Three Ain't Bad
Stones: Wild Horses or Angie
Fleetwood Mac: Landslide or Don't Stop
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young: Teach Your Children

The Cars - Just what I needed
Christopher Cross - Sailing
Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street
Bee Gees - How deep is your love
Irene Cara - Out here on my own

I could go on...

Whitney Houston - Saving all my love
Billy Joel - Piano man
Paul McCartney and Wings - Silly love songs
Elton John - Rocket man

No, not Silly Love Songs. I’m a sentimental fool myself, but that one’s so bad the guests’ ears will bleed.

Peak songs for most folks are when they were 15-25

Top songs for 57 year old 1976-1986

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1976

Can't go wrong with top 10 from that year and onward till 1986

The genres on this thread are all over the place. I listened to alternative or progressive stuff, so Billy Joel would make me yack. What is your friend like? Is she a top 40 type or more alternate stuff?
