Ex is suppose to be paying me for child’s health insurance premium

Is this the ONLY thing he pays you for? Our child support calculation factors in lots of things and spits out "who owes who how much" at the end.

Also, my health plan will tell you EXACTLY how much the kid portion costs.

I could double check but when I asked HR to help me figure out how much covers each person they said they couldn't.

Yes - that is the only thing he pays me for. We were never married and only have a custody agreement from 10 years ago, no child support. He use to pay 50% of big expenses such as back to school shopping, xmas, and any out-of-pocket medical costs.

He would owe you half of what it costs to add just your child.

Why doesn’t he pay for anything else related to the child? No child support aside from insurance premiums? No childcare cost sharing? That doesn’t make sense.

Because 10 years ago I agreed to no child support if he agreed that I have primary physical custody of my son. The whole process was taking a long time and it was really expensive. I didn't want to go to trial, I just wanted it to be over.

He use to pay for after school care at the school my son attended. My son is a freshman in high school now.

No. Their agreement is that he pays all of the insurance premium for the child. Not half.

So take him to court. He will likely pay whatever it is and choose not to go.
Use the tools your have, OP. You don't need advice on this, you need the court.

He's too difficult to deal with. I've threatened him before and he has threatened to take me to court for custody/more time with my son. Going to court will drag this out and by that time my son will be 18. I should have done this years ago and stupidly I didn't. The point I was trying to make today to him was that his calculation was wrong. When I told him the amount for 2019 he came back and said that its really $150 because its pre-tax and something about 40% tax bracket. I'm not at 40% and I was trying to figure out how one would come up with the true cost of the health insurance premium.

She definitely made the right move--for her ex. He's now in a position to nickel and dime the little he agreed to.

Well, on the other hand the father of your son - at your request - willingly stays out of your kid’s life. If I were you I’d pick my battles here.

Most employer insurance has a lower premium charge for kids than spouse. So it may be $500 but the $350 is for a spouse and $150 for kid. If that’s the case, he would pay )150

Ask how much the premium would be just for you, then subtract that from what you're paying for two. Shouldn't be hard...

She's not gonna go to court over $100/month. Stupid, not worth it.

I thought courts wouldn't let anyone waive child support...
