Best boxed cornbread mix?

Oil a cast iron skillet or pan (or heavy aluminum) and put in oven while you're making the batter. Pour batter into sizzling hot pan for best results.

They have a vegetarian option.

This is my favorite too

I’ve never had a scratch version that tastes better than Jiffy, so why bother?

I made the Trader Joe’s mic last week and my son liked it but it was too sweet for me—was more like corn cake.

Yes- and don't buy ground corn. You can put dried kernels into a Vitamix and make your own.

I love Jiffy too. Every time I've tried to make cornbread from scratch, the cornmeal I buy has black specks in which I was told are insect parts.
Has anyone else had the same experience? Where can I buy corn meal without the insect parts?

Jiffy but I add a little honey

I literally laughed out loud! Next someone will post about growing your own corn is best. Seriously. My grandma used Jiffy. Good enough for me.

Me neither. Corn bread isn't hard to make, but I've also never ever found it worth it.

+1. And don’t buy corn at the store. You can grow corn and harvest it in the fall then dry it to use all winter

That’s my favorite because it’s moist, if a little sweet. When I make it from scratch it’s always dry.

+1 Just be aware that it's really important to use heirloom varieties when growing your corn from seed! Try this site: https://www.seedsavers.org/category/corn
