Buying a new car with CC

We put our entire Rav 4 on our credit card in 2016. Paid the balance off with cash the next day. Jack Taylor Toyota in Alexandria - I am not sure they were happy about it or not but if they were unhappy, they didn’t let it show.

Some dealers allow it, some don't. I looked the other day at Enterprise Car Sales and they allow all of it on a credit card.

That is so not true. Financing step comes next AFTER you settle on the price.

NP. It definitely is true. If they are letting you use your credit car for some of it, you didn't do a very good job negotiating. The negotiated price could have been at least that 3% lower and if they are letting you, probably much lower than that.

We put 10k on a card, after price was negoatiated for a used car. When I want to lose five figures in a day, I’ll purchase a new car, until then I have no idea of that process.

We asked for 3% MORE after negotiating because we were then using a check. Got it. Don't think you are getting a deal by using a CC after you negotiate.

I put about $8K on my Amex that had 0% interest for a year and paid it off before that. This was a used car at Darcars about 2 years ago.

Auto Nation Honda in Dulles allowed us to buy our 2016 Odyssey on CC. It was $33k.

We drove it for 2 years and sold it for $30k. I pity the fools that buy used Hondas.

Don't spent that $50 all in one place.

I also bought my Accord from Auto Nation Honda in Dulles lol I put the 8k down payment on my card and they didn't say anything. I was quite surprised. Good to know they even allow that much to be put on a card.
