Class of 2023 - Acceptances/Rejections

Rolling admissions schools make great safeties. After being admitted to Pitt, dd crosses all the schools off her list that she liked less than Pitt. That saved her a bunch of supplementals and saved us a lot of application fees.

Did your dc get merit aid from Pitt?

Yes. $15k

How long after the acceptance did you hear re merit aid?

My DC (4.0 UW GPA / 1540 SAT) was accepted but no word on merit aid or the Honors Program, which his acceptance letter said would come I’d applic via separate letter.

About a week and a half after her acceptance letter, she received a letter from the honors program that wasn’t an acceptance to honors, but something about we’re glad you applied and you’ll be receiving more info soon, and then the merit aid offer came a few days later.

How exciting for your kids. I’m very happy for them. We’ll be here in a year. Only positive energy - ignore any negativity.

Thinking that DD should applied to a few more VA safeties.

Why?

GMU, VCU, JMU getting tougher to get in even for a 4.0 GPA and 1310 kid.

You are sorely misinformed. Rolling admissions are common in the Midwest...it's not a commentary on school quality.

DD accepted into Auburn and CSU. Excited to get two acceptances- it takes the pressure off. She is waiting on a bunch more. 3.7 and 28 ACT.
