| We have low voltage led and they are less power than our porch light which we now keep off |
| We both drive PHEVs, compost, have rain barrels, live in a smaller home, etc. Last winter we spent substail funds to increase the insulation to our hpuse. We also have LED uplifting on for a few hours in the evening (until 10 PM). We can cover 6 LED lights being on for 2-5 hours an evening. NBD. |

It doesn't matter how efficient your uplighting is, it still harms wildlife like bats and birds.
No amount of efficiency changes that. |

The only wildlife ours seems to harm is our crazy neighbor. Her hair is turning gray at lightening speed. No harmed/dead bats or birds found. |
It's always women being called crazy. Don't do that.

We have a main transformer plugged into a wall outlet in our garage with a timer. It can handle about 30 led landscape lights. You just run the outdoor wire under mulch or soil anywhere you want light. There’s no need for power outlets in the backyard. I have a larger transformer I haven’t used yet that can handle hundreds of lights but that’s a later project. The lights are great as long as you are consistent about style and use them selectively.
A neighbor had powerful uplights placed under every tree installed by a landscaping company. It’s actually very attractive, but a bit theatrical. Also, one of those caught fire after mulching |
| Can someone post images of subtle outdoor lighting? We're curious about this, but don't want to wind up with something that stands out in a bad way. |
If she didn't behave like a crazy woman I wouldn't call her out on it. If i was a male I'd say the same thing about him, just in this case it's a female. |
