I know a lot of older Boomers who plan to retire in this area, especially MoCo. And after sending their kids to the awesome public schools, all they do is bitch about taxes on their $1.5m house that they paid $100K for 30 years ago. They will vote for anyone who will reduce property taxes, thus starving the local schools for the next generation. This is why you're seeing the local school scores decline - over-crowding, larger classrooms, no investments for the future, and less resources for special needs. This is why MD schools have declined the past 4 years under Hogan.

They are a plague on the county.

Hint: No, no you can't.

The things we Americans like about other countries are the walkable villages and neighborhoods and the super efficient mass transit. Why not support those things here, rather than 12 lanes to 16 lanes of I-270? Or yet another Potomac River crossing that does nothing to address the core issues.
