Are govt lawyer jobs more flexible in terms of time, and is it worth the huge pay cut?

It's the "attitudes like yours..." comment that wasn't well received.

My original point still holds. I am not and didn't say that part-timers all toss their jobs aside. But there are plenty of people working part time who are disconnected and unavailable. THEY are the ones giving the part and flex timers a bad name, and not me.

But, those who want disconnection and unavailability: go for it. Just be prepared for less responsibility when you are actually "on."

I don't know where everyone else works, but my federal government office is not terribly family friendly. PT, Flex time, AWS don't seem to be accepted. Travel is expected, etc. Just make sure you know what are in for. nOt all offices are the same.

the idea that you HAVE to (or even should) check your emails on your day off is absurd when you are taking such a huge pay cut. hate that american attitude. the blackberry should be OFF when you are off.
