totally normal. practice is cancelled if it is below 35 or the turf has snow/ice. it is fine

Costco has their running gloves right now that are sort of neoprene fabric with grippy stuff on the fingers and palms. These work well for soccer, as they breathe and allow them to hold onto the ball when doing throw ins. Ladies XS fits most elementary school kids, and they're not expensive.

It's good practice to keep the on field perspective of the game. You'll be grateful when they aren't seeing the big field for the first time in Feb.

Winter outdoor practice is wonderful. My kids prefer it over the heat and humidity of the summer. Dress in layers and get technical running tights, gloves, under layers and they are fine. If not too hot. I don't understand why this is a problem. In this area we have 70 degrees in Dec, Jan, Feb so its just an extended fall.
